Should You Use a Digital Hearing Aid Or an Analog?
When you look back at the last few years and see the difference that has evolved between the digital and analog hearing aid, it is quite amazing. Digital hearing aids were the cause of many people running from stores holding their wallets in hand, but those days are long over as the price of the digital hearing aid has gone down while the quality has gone up.
One thing that will be immediately noticeable when you use a digital hearing aid is the fact that you will have almost zero feedback. The technology that is available is able to weed that out and end up giving you a perfect listening experience. This alone makes them well worth the money.
Something else that they feature is a noise reduction feature. Just like a great set of headphones, they are able to filter out background noises and only allow the most pertinent sounds to get through. This is something that even the best analog hearing aid is not capable of.
While those two features sound great, the true reason to get a digital hearing aid is the sound quality. This is something that is not even close when you listen with them both at the same time. If you don’t believe us, try it. It will be like having an old vinyl album being played in one ear on the worst record player that you can imagine versus a CD being played in the other one on the most expensive iPod that money can buy. Yes, the difference is that noticeable.
The only thing that you can actually consider to be a disadvantage is the price. But this is justified as you would expect to pay more for something of better quality. It is further justified when you realize the advances, the pricing has come down and they only cost about as much as a good analog hearing device did a few years ago.
There is no arguing the advances that technology has had over the last few years. All of the technology this is in high tech headphones, iPods and stereos translates perfectly into hearing aids. You can now get a device that is capable of putting sound in your ear that was not even conceivable a few years ago. One quick listen is all you are going to need and the decision will be obvious. Digital is easily the right choice . . .
